Why should I have an app for my blog?
That’s pretty simple to answer. To drive more traffic to your site. You want to be able to get your blog in front of as many people as you can and you want to make it as accessible in any way possible. With apps, people will be able to see live updates to your posts where ever they go, wherever they are.

How do I start?
You will first need to setup an account with Condiut Mobile. I am not a “Developer” only a designer and Conduit Mobile will develop the app for you. They have a free account and some paid services.

What do you do?
I will help create the design and look of your app. From colors to layout, app icons, splash screens, provide screenshots, and help upload your app to Apple if you need the assistance. See my fees below for futher details.

What else will I need to do?
After the app has been designed, developed, and packaged. You will then need to create accounts with Apple, Windows, and Google Play (previously known as Android). You do not have to create accounts with all of them if you don’t want to. After you create the accounts then you will need to upload your app package that you receive from Conduit Mobile. Conduit Mobile has step by step tutorials on how to do this.

You did not design my blog. Can I still have you design my app?
Yes, the only thing is that I cannot use any of your blog’s design unless I have a written consent from your designer allowing me permission to use those images to create your app icons. Once I have the designers consent you or the designer will need to provide me with those images to create your icons.

When can you start on my app?
Please view my sidebar under the “Welcome” message to see when my next availability is.

How much will this cost me?
I have different services and you can choose some of them or all. It’s up to you (see below). Keep in mind that in order for you to upload your app to Apple or Windows they each have a registration fee of $100. Google Play (Android) has a registration fee of $25.

My fees are:

• Assistance with Creating your App on Conduit Mobile $40
• App Icons – $30 for the first one and $15 for each additional
• Screenshots $15 each (using my iPad)
• Splash Screens $15 each
• Upload Package to Apple $25 – you must have a Mac Computer to upload your app package to the Apple Store. If you do not have a Mac then I can do this for you.

How to stay in touch with potential clients?

Set up a separate email account for your home business, and stay on top of any email received. You should respond to potential customers right away, and be professional and polite. Email should be checked frequently. If you ignore inquiries about your products or services, customers will seek to purchase from your more attentive competitors.

So Whenever you have decided to start a home business, try to offer products or services that you are also interested in because then you will learn more and sell better.Selling products that do not interest you is a recipe for frustration.

How does your competition reward customers for buying from their company? Do they give discounts to repeat customers? Do they send out thank you gifts sometimes? I used to love when my grocery delivery company would bring me a box of items to sample. Think of ways that YOU can reward the people that keep you in business!

It’s one thing to entice readers to visit your site, but it’s another thing entirely to convince them to stay. Use an RSS feed to simplify the experience for your readers. Consider adding other features like free online games to draw traffic and give visitors the chance to interact on your site. You’re looking for an edge that sets you apart from other bloggers, so be on the lookout for site plug-ins and other extras that can enhance the user experience and interaction on your blog.

Site Design
Whether you hire someone to design the blog, do it yourself or use a template, pay attention to the visuals. Bland, colorless blogs may turn readers away before they give your content a look. Your blog should look good and make people want to see what it’s about. Additionally, resist adding every color in the rainbow or tons of extra visuals. A reader’s eye can handle only so much stimulation, so create an interesting and inviting layout that visitors can appreciate and enjoy.

Social Media
Everyone’s on Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter or other social media sites. Consider linking your blog to these social media sites in order to give your readers new ways to interact with you. Stay in touch with your friends or professional contacts, and engage their opinions, comments and tweets.

Instead of just letting followers know that you posted a new blog, hold contests your readers can participate in through social media. For example, you can challenge readers to “like” your Facebook page where you hold contests and giveaways. You could also randomly select a reader for a prize after they post your content or videos on their networks. Interact with readers in a variety of arenas to increase your following.

Article Layout
With shortened attentions spans, the majority of blog readers skim posts. They look for subheadings with interesting information as they soak up the major points of the post. Strive to make each paragraph and sentence as succinct as possible.

Content
As you add content, make sure it meets the needs of readers. Offer helpful tips and relevant information with a playful personality. Include personal anecdotes and failures, in addition to your triumphant moments, for personal appeal and to make yourself more relatable. Initiate conversation and ask questions to encourage readers to respond to your posts. Consider increasing the Flesch Reading Ease score to appeal to a broader range of readers.

While you’re at it, carefully choose the font and use the spell check. Visitors may skip your blog if the font is too small, large or flowery. Additionally, most readers will dismiss your blog if they find repeated mistakes. Ask a trusted editor to preview your posts if you struggle with grammar.

These tips can help your blog draw readers and increase your business. Don’t be afraid to ask strangers to critique your work. Listen to criticism, and make an effort to give your readers what they want. Keep readers on your site longer when you show you care, provide personal interaction and create a blog you would want to read and follow.
